In these devices, sheets are stacked while a finished stack is carried away. According to the invention, the auxiliary stacking platform (9) consists of two spaced apart horizontal longitudinal beams (17, 17) that extend in the feeding direction of the sheets and to which a series of transverse blades (18) made of a flat hollow section are secured next to each other. The transverse blades (18) are connected to a compressed air supply and have a row of air outlets (21) on their top side.
