A stamping blade (1) of strip or bar form, for stamping tools producing curved cuts, has a holder portion, comprising a rear portion (2) and a transition portion (3), and a cutting portion (4) made of different alloys or materials of different chemical compsns. joined together by a filler-free metallic joint face (43). Pref. the holder portion (2, 3) consists of a hardened steel of compsn. (by wt.) 0.35-0.7% C, 1.0-2.5% Si, 0.4-2.0% Mn, 0.5-2.0% Cr, 0.01-0.5% V, opt. up to 2.0% total of other addns., and balance Fe and impurities, while the cutting portion (4) consists of a high speed steel of compsn. (by wt.) 0.75-1.2% C, 1.2-2.4% V, conventional amts. of Cr, Mo and/or W as well as Co and balance Fe.
