<p>A liquid filtration device (129) useable for removing leukocytes from blood contains a first chamber (108) which is in fluid flow relationship with a second chamber (109). Filtration elements (103) separate the first chamber (108) from the second chamber (109) so that the liquid flowing from the first chamber (108) is filtered thereby prior to entry into the second chamber (109). A passage (111) leads from the second chamber (109) into the first chamber (108) and a hydrophobic filter (104) is used to prevent liquid from the first chamber (108) from flowing through the passage (111) into the second chamber (109) while allowing air to flow therethrough. An outlet (123) is located in the second chamber (109). A second outlet (124) is located within the second chamber (109) and is placed in fluid flow relationship therewith by a conduit (116).</p> |
