The discs are stacked (5) in a drum (4) with a number of concentrically arranged vertical shafts (14) which are open at the base and movable in steps. Each shaft is terminated with a baseplate (7) having a sliding ring (18) for the lowermost disc. At the opening (22) for release of single discs, a separator (23) ensures that only one disc at a time is dropped from the stack into a chute (10). The drum rotates about its vertical axis (13). The number of discs remaining in the shafts is monitored by optical barriers (28).
