The heat exchanger (14) and the waste heat-generating plant, e.g. a compressor (2), are integrated into a sealed circuit (20) with heat carrier fluid and circulation pump (21). The feed and return pipes (31,34) containing the shut-off (30,33), of a room heater (32) with its own energy source, are connected indirectly to the circulation pump. The heat exchanger forms part of a ventilation unit (8), which has a ventilator (15) with variable RPM. The unit is connected to the atmosphere (7) and/or the room (1), via regulatable air flaps (12,13,16,17), which are located on the intake and pressure sides of the ventilator.
