A window operator mechanism (10) includes a worm gear (22) which is generally parallel to the window when closed. A drive gear (24) is generally transverse and is at 45 DEG angle to the horizon. The operator (10) includes a housing (11) which is designed for drop-in assembly and includes three open gear receiving receptacles (15, 16, 17).
