The motor has a casing (1) containing a hub (2), such that the hub rotates within the casing, or the casing rotates about the hub. This results from the action of a compressed medium flowing in chambers (13) between the curved surface (12) of the hub, and the inner surface (3) of the casing. Slats (16) which can extend radially, divide the chambers into regions of increasing and decreasing pressure. The inner surface can also take a wave-like profile, and can be arranged so that diametrically opposite strips can be linked by piston rods (18) or by hydraulic connections.
