Polymers which can be recovered by repeated cleavage and re-formation

Reclaimable polymers (I) comprise - a majority of oligomer units (II) derived from a fixed no. of monomers (III) and bonding units (IV) for linking units (II) via a bond which is different from that between monomer units (III), enabling the repeated cleavage and reformation of units (IV) by a predetermined treatment which only results in cleavage of the bond in units (IV). Also claimed is (i) a process for the prodn. of (I), (ii) a process for the prodn. of (I) from a mixt. of waste polymer materials contg. (I), and (iii) a process for reprocessing (I) (see below).
