The polyamide according to the invention is characterized in that it contains compounds which are used in stabilizing PVC. The amount contained is between 0.2 and 10 wt %, in particular between 0.5 and 5 wt % relative to the polyamide. Organo-tin compounds, perchlorates and epoxy compounds are used in particular. The polyamide preferably has an amine value of less than 2.0 and contains sterically hindered phenols as stabilizers. The polyamide of the invention is suitable as a fusion adhesive for PVC, in particular together with copper or tin-plated copper. The PVC is then also stable at temperatures above 100 DEG C.
