In the numerical controller for a multi-axis machine (IR) the analogue output (F(V)) for the control of peripheral processes has a temporal lead. In one example, the time constants (TF',TR') of at least one of the control elements (R'.R') for the analogue output is shortened by the lead time. In another example a delay element (VG) with a variable time constant (TVG) is provided in the control line for controlling the multi-axis machine. The lead time can be programmed by the user.
