The switching apparatus (1) operates a number of operating or drive members. The switching apparatus includes a first switch operating element of a group (6) of first switch operating elements (4, 5) with which the members are operated. A second switch operating element (7) switches between the members to be operated. A switch which is operated by the second element is constructed so that it is automatically reset. A switch between the members to be operated only takes place when the second element is operated.
