<p>Powered drive transmission for vehicle door lock actuators, shown in the figure, has an input shaft (12) powered by a motor (10) and having a pinion (14) meshed with an intermediate gear (16). An output element typically a worm screw (22) is linked e.g. by a nut (28) for locking and unlocking movement of the lock and a centrifugal or other automatic clutch acts between the intermediate gear and the output element, transmitting power from the motor but permitting free-wheeling movement of the output element without back drive to the gearing when the linkage is shifted by other means.</p> |
