PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer image receiving sheet forming an image by the sublimation and transfer of a colorant, having a receiving layer excellent in printing sensitivity and gloss, generating no rough feeling in printing and not curled after thermal transfer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer image receiving sheet 1 wherein a colorant receiving layer is provided on at least one surface of a base material sheet 2, the base material sheet is obtained by streching a compd. based on polyester and polyolefin into a film and has fine air bubbles formed thereto so that the number of air bubbles on the cross section thereof is set to 3.7X10<4>-2.2X10<5>/mm<2>.
