WATER REPELLENT COMPOSITION, WATER REPELLENT ARTICLE AND METHOD FOR WATER REPELLENT TREATMENT

PURPOSE:To obtain a water repellent composition free from stain comprising a composition containing specific components in prescribed weight ratio, providing an object with excellent water repellency by spraying the target material with the composition. CONSTITUTION:In a water repellent composition comprising (A) 0.1-5wt.% of a fluorine-based resin, (B) preferably 90-99.8wt.% of a 1-3C alcohol and (C) 0.1-5wt.% of a polymer of formula I [X and Y each is O(AO)p, NH, etc., (A is a 2-3C alkylene; (p) is 0-200); R<1> is a group of formula II, formula III, formula IV, etc., or a 1-40C alkylene to which any of these group is inserted, etc.; R<2> is a 1-40C alkyelne to which a group of formula II, formula V, formula VI, O, CO, etc., may be inserted, etc.] having one or more bonds selected bonds such as NHCOO or NHCONH, polyester fabric pretreated by JIS-L-1096A method is immersed in a composition containing 1wt.% of the component A based on ethanol as a water repellent and dried at 20 deg.C at 65% relative humidity to give fabric. The fabric is sprayed with a water repellent composition to show water repellent performances of >=90 point water repellency by JIS-L-1092 to gibe a water repellent article having excellent permanence.
