PURPOSE:To selectively conduct a paper supply, a paper feed, and an ink suction by a single small-size motor. CONSTITUTION:A change-over gear 11 is engaged with a paper feed transmission gear 13 through a change-over mechanism 40 by the movement of a carriage to a printing area. The change-over gear 11 is engaged with a pump drive transmission gear 18 by the movement of the carriage into a non-printing area, whereby ink can be sucked from a recording head 57. Furthermore, by rotating a drive motor 1 in a pump release direction in this state, an automatic paper supply roller is driven. In this manner, a paper supply, a paper feed, and an ink suction can be selectively performed by a single small-size motor. |
