PURPOSE:To form an ultrasonic phase conjugate wave generator capable of increasing a phase conjugate wave reflectivity by the use of a simple constitution. CONSTITUTION:This generator is provided with a nonlinear piezoelectric body 1 in a rectangular parallelpiped shape, first and second electrodes 2a and 2b provided on a pair of surfaces orthogonally crossing with the crystal axis (c) of the nonlinear piezoelectric body, first and second buffer materials 3a and 3b provided so as to cover the entire first and second electrodes and first and second stress impressing jigs 4a and 4b provided on the first and second buffer materials capable of impressing compression stress through the buffer materials to the nonlinear piezoelectric body. The first and second electrodes are constituted so as to be capable of impressing the pump electric field of a frequency twice as much as ultrasonic waves by an AC voltage applied to the electrodes. The first and second buffer materials are respectively formed by an elastic deformable solid body so as to impress the uniform stress to the prescribed area of the nonlinear piezoelectric body. |
