MODIFICATION OF BROKEN STONE WASHING SLUDGE

PURPOSE:To modify sludge to effectively utilize the same by mixing cement or cement based setting material and broken stone-collected dust with washing sludge generated at the time of production of broken stone to knead the resulting mixture by a rod type kneader and granulating the kneaded mixture by a drum type granulator receiving the sprinkling of broken stone-collected dust at the inlet thereof. CONSTITUTION:Cement or cement based setting material and broken stone- collected dust in an amount of 3-6wt.% is premixed with washing sludge with moisture content of 15-35% generated at the time of the production of broken stone and the resultant mixture is kneaded by a rod type kneader 3. The kneaded mixture is further granulated by a drum type granulator 6 receiving the sprinkling of broken stone-collected dust at the inlet thereof and is aged. As a result, sludge holds a granulated state without being dissolved in water and can be mainly utilized as a landfilling material or a back filling material and can be modified to a degree not interfering with tree planting or a low building. That is, this method can be extended to an adaptation range corresponding to use and resources can be recovered effectively with high economical efficiency.
