PURPOSE:To precisely position a lamp with respect to a light transmission body and to make an illuminator compact. CONSTITUTION:As for the illuminator provided with the lamp 13 formed to be bent and the light transmission body 11 receiving light from the lamp 13 and emitting the light in a surface state, a housing groove 12 is formed on the front surface near the side end part of the transmission body 11 and the lamp 13 is housed in the groove 12. Then, the lamp 13 housed in the groove 12 is depressed and fixed by a fixing means 15.
