PURPOSE:To provide the telephone system for automatically transferring a call to a closest fixed telephone set even when a portable telephone set at the calling destination is busy. CONSTITUTION:A private branch exchange 1 is provided with a position registration table 40 for storing the registered areas of respective portable telephone sets 3 and an area extension number reference table 50 for storing the extension number of a fixed telephone set 4 existent inside the relevant registered area. When a call is incoming to the portable telephone set 3 and this portable telephone set 3 is busy, while referring to the stored contents in the position registration table 40 and the area extension number reference table 50, this incoming call is automatically transferred to the fixed telephone set existent inside the registered area of this portable telephone set. |
