<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently perform the policing control of an ATM cell by providing a grouping part and regarding plural virtual paths as a virtual path. CONSTITUTION:A cell information branching part 1 separates the header part and the information field of an inputted cell and adds the virtual path identification data in the header part to a grouping part 4. This grouping part 4 groups plural preliminarily set virtual paths and processes them so as to be treated as a virtual path. Therefore, in the polishing part 3 corresponding to a grouped virtual path, a policing control can be performed for plural virtual paths. When the grouping part 4 is composed of a grouping table and a bit conversion part, whether a grouping is performed by the high-order bit of virtual path identification data or not is judged by referring to the grouping table. When the grouping is performed, the low-order bit of virtual path identification data is converted into the specified same contents such as '0', etc., by the bit conversion part.</p> |
