PURPOSE:To reduce the compensation processing time while minimizing the scale of the hardware by providing a random access memory section and an image data read means reading image data stored in the random access memory section to the processing unit. CONSTITUTION:Image data are stored in a random access memory to store image data, and the image data stored in the random access memory are read therefrom in a direction and a sequence to correct simultaneously distortion in a 2-dimension picture in the image data resulting from a tilted arrangement direction of photoelectric conversion elements of a line sensor with respect to a main scanning direction and a displacement of the 2-dimension picture in the image data resulting from a deviation of an image pickup object image from a regular posture stored in a storage means. Then tilt angles of image sensors I1, I2 are set respectively to be theta1, theta2 and a tilt angle of an original is set to be alpha, then a tilt read address of the memory reserved corresponding to the image sensors I1, I2 is obtained by calculation. |
