PURPOSE:To bury a pipe under the ground with high accuracy even if the diame ter thereof is very small. CONSTITUTION:While a pilot pipe 4 having a leading body 3 on its forward end is driven into the ground by a propulsion device 1 installed in 2 starting shaft 2, signals delivered from a transmitter 14 provided on the body 3 are received above the ground to measure the location of the body 3 so that the direction of the body 3 is controlled based on the obtained information of location to precisely bury the pipe 4 under the ground, and thereafter a small- diameter pipe 18 to be buried is connected to the forward end of the pipe 4. By the method wherein the pipe 18 is drawn into the ground through the pilot pipe 4, the pipe can be buried under the ground with high accuracy, even if the diameter thereof is very small. |
