摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a magnetostrictive actuator which can enhance the responsivity of a displacement control operation. CONSTITUTION:A magnetostrictive element 23 is housed inside a casing 1 in such a way that one end side is fixed and that the other end side becomes a free end, and a displacement at the free end of the magnetostrictive element 23 is taken out to the outside via an output shaft 27. Elements 21, 22, 24, 25, 26 which are connected to both end sides of the magnetostrictive element 23 and a casing 11 constitute a magnetic circuit 36 which is passed in series with the magnetostrictive element 23. The permanent magnets 21, 25 which apply a bias magnetic field to the magnetostrictive element 23 are inserted and installed in series with the magnetic circuit 36. A coil 32 which controls a displacement amount obtained from the free end by controlling the strength of the magnetic field applied to the magnetostrictive element 23 is arranged around the magnetostrictive element 23. Elastic support springs 30, 31 which support the elements 26, 27 so as to be freely movable are installed between the elements connected to the free end of the magnetostrictive element 23 and the casing 1.
