PURPOSE:To automatically discharge documents failed in collection and prevent damage and useless copying of the documents without troubling a user by conducting discharging operation of the documents on a platen when a preset time passes after previous input. CONSTITUTION:An automatic document feeder 20 is openably mounted on a contact glass 11, wherein documents P which are separated and fed one by one from a document table 21 by a separating roller 22 and a feeding roller are carried onto a contact glass 11 via a carrying belt 23 and carried out of the contact glass 11 after subjected to exposure treatment and discharged by a discharging roller 25 onto a discharging tray 24. A timer is provided thereon to measure a time passed after previous input to an input part, and a controller is provided therein to drive the carrying belt 23 and the discharging roller 25 when the elapsed time reaches a preset time. |
