A thread inspection tool for measurement and inspection of threads, consisting of an electronic digital sliding calliper with modified jaws. The profile holder 3 is fastened to the fixed jaw 1 of the sliding calliper, and the profile holder 4 is fastened to the movable jaw 2 of the sliding calliper. A set (2 items) of thread- compatible external thread profile blades 7 or a set (2 items) of thread-compatible internal thread profile blades 8 are fastened in the grooves 5 and 6 by fastening means 9. The pitch diameter can be measured, and pitch and profile can be visually inspected without regard for the diameter of the thread. (In other words, threads with uniform profile and pitch but with non-uniform diameter can be measured/inspected with the same thread profile blade set.) An important advantage/effect is that the thread inspection tool can be used for both external and internal threads simply by replacing a set of thread profile blades. <IMAGE>
