SYSTEM FOR THE PROTECTION OF LUGGAGE

System for the protection of luggage of travellers, based on the thermal effect on thermal retractable polyethylene material resulting in the retraction of the latter so as to wrap it all around in order to provide an external protection against possible undue manipulations. The thermal effect is produced by using an oven (1) wherein are incorporated a series of resistances (2), a fan (3) and a thermostat (9). The functions of the system are controlled by means of an electronic control pannel (10). The system may either have a single axis (8) used both for the entry and exit of the luggage, or two accesses, a front axis for the entry and a rear axis for the exit of the luggage. It also comprises the optional transport mechanism, either a fixed conveyor (11) such as a continuous band or belt with horizontal motion or a movable conveyor (19) whose horizontal motion displaces the luggage. In either case, the conveyor is provided with a proximity sensor (25).
