<p>A computer '3D' graphics system comprises a processor operable by an image processing program, memory associated with said processor and a visual display unit, wherein said program generates an image in the form of a multi-faceted polygon displayed in model space by the visual display unit and texture held in the form of a bit map in said memory is mapped on to each facet of the polygon by said program, and is characterised in that: said programme provides for a virtual texture surface (4) disposed in model space forwardly of said polygon (3); said programme 'projects' information from said texture bit map on to said texture surface (4), and said programme subsequently drapes said projected information from said texture surface on to the individual facets (1, 2) of the polygon (3) such that projected information draped coherently across contacting edges (6) of adjacent facets (1, 2).</p> |
