Device for lifting persons

The device is for lifting persons and has two lateral stirrups (1,2), the lower free end (3,4) of which is bent for engaging under the shoulders of the person to be lifted. The stirrups are so pivotably connected to one another that their free ends on lifting the device move towards each other under the wt. of the person and press against the body of the person being lifted. A stop (12) effective on pivoting towards each other of the two lateral stirrups is available, which guarantees a min. distance between the lower free ends of the two lateral stirrups. The stop for regulating different min. distances between the lower free ends is adjustable.
