Anti-tachycardial control for auricle-sensed therapy by pacemaker

An anti-tachycardial system providing therapeutic assistance to the heart via a pacemaker implant employs an electrode in the auricle which determines the level of excitation in the atrium in order to trigger an automatic and corrective reaction to the onset of tachycardial rhythms. The electrode (1) response (2) is routed firstly to a logic module (3) and stimulator electrode (4) and in a second branch (5) through the signal processing modules (6, 7, 8) to an insulated metallic segment (9) in the housing (10) of the implant in direct contact with muscle tissue whose contractions are electrically promoted via the segment (9). A warning signal is also given e.g. a sound signal to the patient and others.
