Modular and extendible electronic working surface using reversibly connectable basic components, the surfaces of which take the form of sensitive flat panel devices and can mutually exchange data. Some or all of the basic components are fitted with memories and processors, have the basic functions of a personal computer and can communicate with external devices and data networks. The working surface can be used by one or more users as a universal, variable size, mobile device for input, output, processing and storing data and as a data communications terminal.
