The remote control device is used for control of the water and/or air supply nozzles of a bath-tub (1) and, where appropriate, for further functions such as intensity of the circulating pump, underwater illumination and the like. It comprises a manual remote control unit (2) having command keys (8) and at least one emitting diode. This emitting diode is assigned a stationary receiving diode communicating with the functional elements to be controlled. An essential simplification without impairment of the control possibilities is obtained when a stationary instrument tray (6) which is ergonomically easily reached by the hands of the user of the bath-tub (1) and has allocated to it a stationary receiving diode which is oriented toward its assigned emitting diode of the manual remote control unit which can only be placed in a predetermined position, is provided for the manual remote control unit (2).
