<p>An electric motor driven inline hydraulic apparatus (10) comprising a housing (11) having end plates (12,13) closing said housing (11), an electric motor stator (14) mounted in said housing (11), an electric motor rotor (15), a shaft (18) on which the rotor is mounted is journalled in the housing (11) and a vane type pump (21) mounted on one of the end plates (13). The shaft (18) extends through an opening in the end plate (13) and is connected to the vane rotor of the pump. Hydraulic fluid is supplied to the interior of the electric motor housing and flows through passages (25) in the housing (11) to the intake of the vane pump (21) on the end plate. In one form, the vane pump (21) delivers fluid through an outlet (23) in the end plate (13) on which it is mounted. In another form, the vane pump delivers fluid through an outlet in the pump housing. <IMAGE></p> |
