PURPOSE:To prolong the lifetime of a photoreceptor and transfer a toner at high efficiency by providing an elastic layer on an intermediate transfer means, and fixing fine grains having a specific grain size on the surface of the intermediate transfer means. CONSTITUTION:The toner image formed on an intermediate transfer drum 5.is aligned with the potential by a pre-transfer electrifier 9, and it is transferred at once by a transfer roller 14 on a recording medium 10 extracted from a sheet cassette 11 by a pickup roller 12. The recording medium 10 is charge- removed and peeled by a charge remover 15, and it is fed to a fixing device 16 to be fixed. The intermediate transfer drum 5 fixed with fine grains on the surface is used, and elasticity is applied to the surface of the intermediate transfer drum 5. Only the fine grains having the average grain size of a half or below of the average grain size of the toner is used. A foreign object such as a carrier is prevented from being bitten between a photoreceptor belt 1 and a nip to damage the photoreceptor belt 1, and the life of the photoreceptor belt 1 is prolonged to the printing of up to 20000 sheets from about 1000 sheets. |
