The gear selector lever (21) is fitted under the steering wheel (10) so that it can be operated without the driver taking their hand from the steering wheel. The handle (21a) that operates the selector is in the form of a loop that follows the periphery of the steering wheel for part of its circumference. The selector lever is moved in a direction perpendicular to the plane to the plane of the steering wheel to change ratios, rotating about a pin (29) passing transversely through the steering column. The operating handle acts on a flexible cable (22), which has a spherical pivot at its mount on the gearbox, and acts on a selector mechanism attached to the gearbox. |
