PURPOSE:To provide a medium to be recorded to satisfy both of ink absorption properties and dye adsorption properties and an ink jet recording method using the medium by making an alumina hydrate having titanium dioxide of specified wt.%. CONSTITUTION:Titanium dioxide of 0.01-1.00wt.% is contained in an alumina hydrate to improve both of dispersion properties and adsorption properties of a dye in ink to be better than those of the alumina hydrate heretofore available, which is used to be difficult. For instance, the constitution in which the alumina hydrate containing titanium dioxide is added into a sheet starting from the stage of adjusting a raw material for the sheet is formed, or the constitution in which an ink receptive layer 2 containing mainly the titanium dioxide containing alumina hydrate and a binder is formed as a phase on a base 1 is composed. As the alumina hydrate is provided with positive charge, an ink dye is fixed in a good manner to form an image of good coloring, and also the alumina hydrate is preferred most as a material for the ink receptive layer 2, since problems like the browning of black ink, light fastness and others generated in the conventional process using a silica compound are not generated. |
