RNA-BREAKING AGENT

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a new RNA-breaking agent capable of entering specifically into a cell containing a virus causing an intractable infectious disease and specifically breaking the virus RNA and useful as an antiviral agent or an anticancer agent. CONSTITUTION:This RNA-breaking agent is a complex material composed of a ribozyme of the formula, 3'-X1-Y-X2-X2-5' (X1 and X2 are each independently a base sequence of a nucleic acid complemental to the base sequence of the target RNA; Y is an active base sequence for RNA breakage) and a (glyco) protein-or polypeptide-polycation conjugate of the formula, E-L-F [E is a (glyco) protein or a polypeptide the receptor of which exists on the cell membrane surface; F is a polycation; L is a linker capable of forming a covalent bond to each amino group end of E and F]. The complex material composed of the ribozyme of the formula and an ASOR-poly-L-lysin.conjugate can break RNA of hepatitis C virus. Ribozyme is bonded to the (glyco)protein- or polypeptide-polycation conjugate in a saline to form a complex material.
