PURPOSE:To obtain a friction material composition containing microcapsulated sulfur, free from the generation of maldor during thermoforming, capable of producing a formed article having excellent braking feeling, friction coefficient stability, etc., and suitable as a break and a clutch for an automobile, etc. CONSTITUTION:This friction material composition contains sulfur in the form of microcapsulated sulfur, tetramethylthiuram disulfide, tetraethylthiuram disulfide, dipentamethylenethiuram tetrasulfide, etc., with a membrane material of a water-soluble polymer molecule, a heat-hardening resin, a photo-hardening resin, etc. Further, the microcapsulated sulfur is preferably contained in an amount of 1-20vol.%. |
