PURPOSE:To provide a cable connector whose contact is free from plastic deformation even when the cable is drawn off with no pressing of a covering member. CONSTITUTION:The gap between contacting parts 48a, 54b of a contact 4 accommodated in an insulated housing 2 is widened by pressing a covering member 6 so that a conductor 9 of a cable 8 pinched by the contacting parts 48a, 54b is released. Because an extension part 56 whose free end is formed in an arc of circle, is formed near the contacting part 54b, the free end 56a contacts the conductor 9 when the cable 8 is drawn out, and the contacting part 54b in engagement with the conductor 9 is separated from the conductor 9. |
