PURPOSE:To start a defrosting operation quickly when a prescribed amount of frost is formed, by providing a means of detecting the quantity of air of an indoor fan and correcting a frost determination temperature in accordance with the quantity of air detected in the course of a cold air preventing control operation. CONSTITUTION:When a temperature TH of an indoor heat exchanger 14 is judged to be lower than a prescribed temperature THfix, a cold air preventing control operation is started. Then, the number of revolutions of a blower fan 15 is detected, and when it is equal to or larger than the prescribed number of revolutions in a weak draft state, the value of a frost determination temperature beta is corrected to the largest value beta1. When the number of revolutions of the blower fan 15 is smaller than that number of revolutions and larger than the prescribed number of revolutions, the frost determination temperature beta is corrected to beta2 being smaller than beta1. Correction to beta3 is executed in the same way. Accordingly, beta<beta1<beta2<beta3, and the frost determination temperature beta is corrected to a smaller value as the number of revolutions of the blower fan 15 becomes smaller. According to this method, it is possible to execute correction to a proper temperature for the start of a defrosting operation and to conduct the defrosting operation speedily.
