PURPOSE:To let operations be silent and stabilized by controlling the operations of two reversible pump-turbines by each power factor adjusting means based on the combination of power factors where the outputs of vibration detectors become minimum, and thereby restraining vibration taking place in a concrete barrel. CONSTITUTION:The power plant is made up of two reversible pump-turbines, and these two reversible pump-turbines are set in a single concrete barrel 16. A plurality of vibration detectors 19 detecting barrel vibration are grounded over the outer circumferential surface of the concrete barrel 16. And each power factor adjusting means 20 is provided for respective generator motors 15. Detected signals from the respective vibration detectors 19 and the respective power factor adjusting means 20 are inputted to an operating means 21. The operating means 21 averages the detected signals from the respective vibration detectors 19 so as to judge its magnitude, and a control signal for the adjustment of power factors is outputted to the power factor adjusting means 20. By this constitution, the operations of the two reversible pump-turbines are controlled, so that the most silent operations can thereby be acquired.
