<p>PURPOSE:To provide a random column packing with excellent wettability to a liquid and an excellent liquid retaining function by sticking a mesh body to the surface of an article produced by processing a sheet-like material to both sides of which mesh bodies are stuck. CONSTITUTION:A high temperature metal sheet is sandwiched with mesh bodies made of a metal and the resulting material is pressed at a high temperature to give a sheet-like article to both sides of which the mesh bodies made of the metal are stuck in the welded state in which the mesh bodies hardly peel off even by later processing. A random column packing 1 to the whole surface of which the mesh bodies are stuck is produced from the obtained material by processing, such as cutting, punching, pressing, bending, etc. The random column packing 1 has excellent wettability to a liquid, excellent liquid retainable properties, and high gas-liquid contacting efficiency in the case the packing is put in a distillation tower, an absorption tower, etc.</p> |
