PURPOSE:To obtain a tumor necrosis factor-producing inhibitor containing a compound expressed by a specific formula and useful as a medicine for treating chronic rheumatism, AIDS, hepatitis and II type diabetes mellitus. CONSTITUTION:This inhibitor contains a compound of the formula {R<1> is H, an alkyl, an alkenyl, an acyl or X<1>-(CH2)kR<7> [R<7> is a halogen, hydroxy, an alkoxy, an alkylthio, carboxyl, an alkoxycarbonyl, an aryloxycarbonyl, cyano, an amino, an alkylamino, a dialkylamino, a cycloalkyl, a heterocycle, an aromatic ring or an aromatic heterocycle; X<1> is carbonyl or methylene; (k) is 0-5]; A and B each is methylene or formula II [R<2> and R<3> each is H, a (substituted) alkyl, an alkoxycarbonyl]}, e.g. 15-acetyl-5,6,2,13-tetrahydrocycloocta[1,2-f:5,6-f']bis[1,3]benzodi-ox ol-5,12-imine, etc. |
