PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium, which is provided with copy protection, for prevention of an illegal copying operation and to obtain a reproducing apparatus by a method wherein a region which cannot be read out digitally is formed in a readout region for the recording medium in which digital data has been recorded. CONSTITUTION:In a recording medium A which is provided with copy protection, an error region (a) which is composed of a block 11 and which cannot be read out digitally is formed in a readout region in which digital data has been recorded. Data which is read out by a recording-medium readout means 42 from the recording medium A 41 is reproduced by a reproducing means 43. At this time, an error-address storage means 45 records an address in the error region (a) for the medium 41 or extracts the address from a ROM so as to be input to a readout-address control means 44. The means 44 controls the read-out address by the means 42 so as not to read out the error region according to the address. Thereby, the data can be reproduced normally by avoiding the error region (a). |
