INK SHEET AND HEAT TRANSFER RECORDING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To reduce the sublimation and consumption of an ink sheet using subliming or hot-melt ink for a transfer recording device and form a good image at low cost by forming the width of a coloring material layer for one color to be approximately the maximum recording width of a recording medium which can be supplied to a heat transfer recording device and also forming its length to be half of the maximum recording length repeatedly in the longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:An ink sheet base is a heat-resistant resin film continuing in the longitudinal direction, and a dye or a pigment is contained over the film in the strip shape in the longitudinal direction. Yellow coloring layers 2, magenta coloring layers 3 and cynanogen coloring layers 4 are formed repeatedly. The widths 2, 3 and 4 of respective coloring material layers are formed larger than the maximum recording width of a recording medium fed from a heat transfer recording device using the above-said ink sheet. The length of the coloring material layers is set to be half or shorter of the maximum recording length of the recording medium. Coloring layers of a plurality of colors are formed successively and repeatedly in the longitudinal direction and the ink sheet is consumed in small block units to reduce the waste of ink sheet as much as possible and use the ink sheet as a large capacity sheet.
