PROCESSOR WITH COMMUNICATION FUNCTION

PURPOSE:To enable a processor to make an efficient communication with an external circuit. CONSTITUTION:An operation mode switching circuit 17 is provided in the processor 11. The operation mode switching circuit places the processor 11 in communication mode according to a Halt signal and connects an internal circuit such as a memory part 15 in the processor 11 to the external circuit 19 through a communication bus 20. Further, the operation mode switching circuit connects a specific resource in the internal circuit to the communication bus according to a resource selection signal. Consequently, a direct communication between the specific resource and external circuit 19 can be made possible.
