PURPOSE:To improve the half-tone fixing property and prevent the damage of a device due to an abnormal temperature rise when a thick sheet passes in a film heating type image heating device heating an image on a recording material. CONSTITUTION:A heating body 1 is fixedly arranged on a fixing device by a holder 101. The heating body 1 is stuck with a resistance sheet 3 made of a nickel/chromium alloy on a heat-resistant elastic plate 2 made of silicone tubber of fluoro-rubber via a silicone adhesive, a PFA coating layer 4 is applied on the surface to improve the sliding property on a film 6, and the heating body 1 is excited from both ends in the longitudinal direction. The excitation is controlled by a control means including a microcomputer so that the detected temperature of a temperature detecting element 5 arranged in contact with or near the resistance sheet 3 is kept at a prescribed constant temperature. |
