<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a new silicon-containing pentacyclic compound useful as a raw material for a flame-resistant material, a heat-resistant material, an electrically conductive material, etc. CONSTITUTION:The compound of formula I (R<1> is a monofunctional group; R<2> and R<3> each is a bifunctional group) such as a compound of formula II. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting 1,2-bis(hydrosilyl)benzene of formula III with a cyclic diyne of formula IV in the presence of a platinum compound. A 1,2,4,5-tetrakis(hydrosilyl)benzene of formula V (R<4> and R<5> each is a monofunctional group) is reacted with the cyclic diyne of formula IV in the presence of a platinum compound to give a new silicon-containing ladder polymer of formula VI (n is a positive number).</p> |
