PURPOSE:To increase critical temp. and critical current by specifying the partial pressure of oxygen in an atmosphere used at the time of forming a superconducting phase from a molten state by solidification. CONSTITUTION:Oxide of RE (RE is one or more kinds of elements selected from among La, Nd, Sm, Eu and Gd) is mixed with BaCO3, and CuO, this mixture is melted by heating to 1,000-1,300 deg.C and a phase represented by the formula (RE1-xBax)(Ba1-yREy)Cu3Od (where 0<x<0.5, 0<y<0.5 and 6.8<d<7.2) is formed by slow cooling at <=5 deg.C/hr cooling rate under 0.00001-0.05atm partial pressure of oxygen to obtain the objective oxide superconductor made of REBa-Cu-O. |
