FERMENTATION TREATMENT OF ORGANIC WASTE USING HEAT SHOCK

PURPOSE:To efficiently execute an org. fermentation treatment by charging fermenting bacteria into org. waste subjected to moisture control and mixing and agitating the waste while applying a heat shock thereon by heating the waste to a temp. higher than the temp. optimum for fermentation. CONSTITUTION:The bottom of a fermentation tank 1 is formed to a U shape, has a hopper 3 for charging materials and a take-out port 9 for taking out materials to be fermented and is supported by holding legs 30. Rollers 6 are held at a horizontal revolving shaft 4 via supporting rods 5. This tank is heated at one time up to a temp. nearly 100 deg.C for sterilization. Indirect heating by a burner 26 is, therefore, executed and the high-temp. air flow (600 to 700 deg.C) after passage of a jacket 25 is introduced via a connecting bent pipe 27 into the fermentation tank 1 and is utilized for a heating treatment. The high-temp. air flow in the tank is discharged from a discharge chimney 28. The fermenting bacteria are then charged into the tank. The fermentation is thus effected while the materials are heated and held at the temp. higher than the optimum temp. of the bacteria to apply the heat shock on the materials and the air is introduced therein and the materials are cooled. The internal pressure in the tank is increased by using an air blow-off port 16 and a discharge port 17.
