PURPOSE:To provide a nonaqueous secondary battery with high discharge working voltage, high energy density, high charge/discharge performance, and high safety. CONSTITUTION:A nonaqueous secondary battery consists of a positive active material, a negative active material prepared by previously inserting 0.5-4.5 equivalent lithium before accommodating in a battery container into an oxide and/or sulfide of mainly at least one semimetal of the IV-B and V-B groups in the periodic table or an oxide and/or a sulfide containing at least on of In, Zn, and Mg, and a nonaqueous electrolyte containing a lithium salt. |
